Molybdenum deficiency in plants

Taken up as MO3-, Molybdenum plays a vital role in the enzyme processes that convert Nitrogen into Amine.

As a result, Molybdenum nutrient deficiency is very similar to Nitrogen stress, with older leaves becoming chlorotic. In addition, plants can display problems with stem extension and leaf expansion.

Being very mobile in most soils, Molybdenum availability is often low. High Molybdenum status can induce Copper deficiency, particularly affecting grazing livestock. Where required, foliar feeding with Molybdenum can be very effective.
